07spring PUMA Ad

this ad is strange. i have seen it in various fashion magazines and noticed the plastic blocks the guy was skipping on simply because it looks like something i rendered in my CAD class. just now i made the connection between those blocks and it is maybe supposed to be the zipper from her jacket. this realization just brought out more questions...

--why is the guy where he is, caught between the zippers?
--why is she fake laughing?
--why is the jacket not flattering on her?
--why are her nails so long?
--would someone who doesn't work with zippers and haven't seen the ad as many times as i have even make the connection between her jacket and the blocks?

--now what?

this idea could have been executed very poorly.
high potential for scary version of this jacket.

just the right amount of buckles and i believe the color gradation is what makes this jacket elegant.
